Scout is a modern, curated department store with everything for a country home – everything.

The house itself is a landmark Victorian in downtown Gt Barrington, built in 1860 by Captain George Briggs. Over the years the house was divided up, seeing use as a rooming house, then offices, then apartments, then offices again. In Jan 2022, developer Bobby Houston bought the building and brought it back to its original form, opening the rooms back up, preserving the floor-to-ceiling windows, wavy glass and period details, and raising the ceilings back to their original eleven-foot height.

Scout House is also a much-needed design resource – a hub for tastemakers and the flagship of Jennifer Bianco Design. Working with local artisans and contractors, Jennifer and her team bring the Scout feel to clients in their homes, all the way from vision to finishes.

Most of all, Scout House is an experience – a window on a way of life. From the hand-picked books in the library to locally-sourced bedding in the boudoir, vintage and antique finds, international mercantile, art shows and wine-tastings, and always, always, fresh flowers - Scout House is a welcoming place where you can daydream and spend time finding inspiration and treasures for your home.
